I’ve pulled the one I mounted off today and boxed up both to go back depending on what Jake tells us. SWFA back on the R8 for now and didn’t pull the NXS F1 milspec off the AI.

That....or it's Mr. minox's downs syndrome son's attempts at putting together scopesMan, that does suck. Someone up above or in another thread made a crack about a bunch of these being the returns Blaser was sitting on, and given the volume of people with problems I'm starting to wonder if there isn't something to that.

Hahaha. WTF.
It seems like yes, these were returned scopes.
It seems like the bottom of the turret on the scope on the right bulges out a bit compared to the one on the left. Maybe it's just the angle.Mounted both the white box and red box and spent some time with them today. I’m not having the issues that some guys are but there is a difference on DOF between the two. I wouldn’t say the red box is bad, it just isn’t near as good as the white box.
I have a couple different places where I can look at objects at different distances in the same field of view and it’s pretty noticeable. The parallax knob does work in the correct direction as labeled though.
One odd thing on the red box is it came out of the box with the little cylinder that prevents the turret from going to the second rev in the “wrong” position. Simple fix but odd none the less.
Side by side they are identical as far as I can tell, the only difference is the red box doesn’t have the sticker on the underside that the white box does? View attachment 1010646
Yes, this will be discussed. Heavily.@EuroOptic , this might be worth discussing with your leadership.
Good eye. I just compared and you are correct. Between that and the rev cylinder being “tripped” I’m thinking somebody disassembled it at one time.It seems like the bottom of the turret on the scope on the right bulges out a bit compared to the one on the left. Maybe it's just the angle.
Mine didn’t, was already set on second rev. Just weird.Anybody else’s set to the 2nd revolution out of the box? Mine was limited to 13.7 mils of travel. Had to look at the instructions and move the internal stop in to the first rev position then i had the correct amount.
Of mine and my buddy's, both were on the second rev, and both had the diopters all the way out. Im more concerned about his not working at all, and on mine... well normally I set my reticle to the little pull string on my blinds as my plumb Bob from across the room (like 10 yards). Worked great on an athlon cronus btr gen 2 and a 4-32 nx8. This thing doesnt really like to see anything under 25 yards. That and all the oil was concerning. I'm gonna play with it more in the morning.Mine didn’t, was already set on second rev. Just weird.

For what its worth the range's shitty spotting scope was crystal clear
If it was truly a "oh we found a bunch of scopes in a weird inventory location that were off the books" situation. Thats always tough. Usually 2 or 3 sets of employees have come and gone and it was forgotten why they were there, and why they weren't on the books. Could definitely be the culprit.
Not sure if this is normal or not as well...mine had quite a bit of oil accumulated. View attachment 1011273

Parallax min is 50 meters so I’m not shocked anything sucks at 25 yards. Assume you looked at a longer distance than that too?I talked my buddy (and myself) into one of these....
First range outing was tonight. (Indoor)
I feel like a terrible friend. His was unusable. Couldn't get any sort of focus on the target or reticle at any distance. He fired a few shots at 25, then reeled his target in. "Whyd you reel it in, you should be able to see the that hole at 200+ yards with that thing!"...well he couldn't see shit. Stopped wasting ammo.
Mine was ok-ish. And I think the ish was largely due to the range conditions/barrel mirage. It was indoors with really crappy lighting and was humid and about 32 degrees. Got it zerod at 100. And did a 6.5 mil tall targeted. Seemed to track properly.
Shooting my other rifle with a known NX8...it was also mediocre after I started firing. Lots of shimmer off of the barrel and reaper with brake (ls wild cover). So range conditions were definitely sus.
I need to actually compare both to each other in daylight. But I will say my zp5 seems worthless under 20 yards.
Went back to friends gun after I was done and yep, it sucks.
Bad timing. Im trying to get him into NRL. First 1 day this weekend then freestone the 20th. Im loading him my athlon I took off. So fingers crossed my zp5 holds up. Otherwise I'll be using my 25 prc and nx8.
