Q&A for Minox ZP5 5-25x56mm THLR scope

Man, that does suck. Someone up above or in another thread made a crack about a bunch of these being the returns Blaser was sitting on, and given the volume of people with problems I'm starting to wonder if there isn't something to that.
That....or it's Mr. minox's downs syndrome son's attempts at putting together scopes 🤣.

For what its worth the range's shitty spotting scope was crystal clear 😅

If it was truly a "oh we found a bunch of scopes in a weird inventory location that were off the books" situation. Thats always tough. Usually 2 or 3 sets of employees have come and gone and it was forgotten why they were there, and why they weren't on the books. Could definitely be the culprit.

Not sure if this is normal or not as well...mine had quite a bit of oil accumulated. 20260122_184939.jpg

Hahaha. WTF.

It seems like yes, these were returned scopes.

@EuroOptic , this might be worth discussing with your leadership. Did you, in fact, get a giant batch of $3000 scopes that were a bunch of returns? It puts you in a bad position. There are probably 8-10 so far that aren't working at all, with a bunch more that seem to not meet quality expectations compared to earlier known examples. Out of a shipment of how many?

Mounted both the white box and red box and spent some time with them today. I’m not having the issues that some guys are but there is a difference on DOF between the two. I wouldn’t say the red box is bad, it just isn’t near as good as the white box.

I have a couple different places where I can look at objects at different distances in the same field of view and it’s pretty noticeable. The parallax knob does work in the correct direction as labeled though.

One odd thing on the red box is it came out of the box with the little cylinder that prevents the turret from going to the second rev in the “wrong” position. Simple fix but odd none the less.

Side by side they are identical as far as I can tell, the only difference is the red box doesn’t have the sticker on the underside that the white box does? View attachment 1010646
It seems like the bottom of the turret on the scope on the right bulges out a bit compared to the one on the left. Maybe it's just the angle.

Yes, this will be discussed. Heavily.
I cannot express my apologies enough, had we of known the condition of these scopes they most definitely would not have been sold.
10:55 pm est here, I go into the office tomorrow morning at 9. I will update as we go.

Good eye. I just compared and you are correct. Between that and the rev cylinder being “tripped” I’m thinking somebody disassembled it at one time.

Anybody else’s set to the 2nd revolution out of the box? Mine was limited to 13.7 mils of travel. Had to look at the instructions and move the internal stop in to the first rev position then i had the correct amount.

Mine didn’t, was already set on second rev. Just weird.

Of mine and my buddy's, both were on the second rev, and both had the diopters all the way out. Im more concerned about his not working at all, and on mine... well normally I set my reticle to the little pull string on my blinds as my plumb Bob from across the room (like 10 yards). Worked great on an athlon cronus btr gen 2 and a 4-32 nx8. This thing doesnt really like to see anything under 25 yards. That and all the oil was concerning. I'm gonna play with it more in the morning.
