Q&A for Minox ZP5 5-25x56mm THLR scope

Thanks for jumping on this - I'm sure it would make all of us feel a lot better if we could rely on you to take point on all of this, given the power-position you'd be in as EuroOptic, compared to any single one of us.

Separate but related: In signing up for the "Comfort Service" warranty, it says you need to sign up within 30 days of purchase, yet it took almost 60 days for us to get the scopes in-hand, with S/Ns, etc. I think you mentioned this elsewhere, but to keep it all in this thread - what do we need to do regarding date of purchase or whatever, to get into the warranty program?
Here’s my interpretation. You put a deposit a month or two ago…. But I paid the invoice balance and it was shipped less than two weeks ago. That’s the date I “bought” it.

I don’t know if I am worried…. Or aroused
It's all good. I have a buddy that said to me one time though "You'd fight to the death over a toothpick, wouldn't you"? I replied "Sure, and I don't even use toothpicks". But I'm getting old now. Have a torn labrum in my right hip, and having an MRI next week on my right knee for a possible torn something. So that should make it a fair fight......LOL.

I got one of the THLR ZP5s as well, and there is definitely something wrong with it. I have used a 5-25 ZP5 MR4 reticle for a long time, and it is a phenomenal optic with incredible DOF and ease of getting behind. I was not very pleased when my new THLR exhibited exactly what has been described above. As a long time user of the 5-25 ZP5, I can say definitively that this is not normal for this scope and something is definitely wrong. I haven't reached out to Euro Optic yet but will definitely be doing so.
Sounds familiar. Compared to the white box ZP5 I have this new red box one is a different animal. Something is wonky on the parallax vs the white box one. Unfortunately I pulled my older one out of the rings it was in so I’m gonna have to remount it in a spare set so I can get them side by side and really figure it out. It doesn’t sound as bad as some guys are experiencing but I swear I hardly had to touch the parallax on my white box model and the eyebox isn’t the same either.

Anyone else have a white-box ZP5 they'd be willing to compare with some of these red-box ones?

Thankfully, both of mine seem fine, but they also both do seem to need to have the parallax adjusted quite a bit - definitely not "I hardly had to touch the parallax".

Anyone on the fence with the out of spec THRL reticle ZP5's and not wanting to deal with the warranty process, happy to buy it.

We’ll be going off the date of delivery to you

I adjust my parallax at 800 and then its always clear 100-800. The reticle is sharp at all magnifications. Its a very easy scope to focus frankly. Its a white box i want to say 2-3 years old maybe?

Are there any obvious assembly or manufacturing variations between the defective one and the functional one?
@rbutcher1234 or anyone with a white box scope and a red box scope that's wonky...

Between your good one and your bad one can you make an observation on what might be the culprit?

For instance, on the nonfunctional scope, if the parallax assembly was released and rotated 180 degrees and recaptured and spun back to 50 would it work?

Or is it totally wonky like it's a bad part or installed upside down and backwards etc.?
