Q&A for Minox ZP5 5-25x56mm THLR scope

Does Jacob wear glasses? I do, for distance and there is nothing more frustrating than taking them off/on in the woods. Can't see with or without them lol. So I leave the steamed up and water spotted bastards on and set my scope accordingly. I cannot master the whole binos with glasses deal so I take them off for that.
Yes he does. Or at least did in his long-range shooting instructional DVD set, and other online videos I've seen - for a while, I think he even had some that pulled apart and went back together or something ...

I used to think it looked like a chore to be taking glasses on and off ... and then my eyes shifted in a matter of months and had more empathy.

I've seen different people try various methods - fully taking them on and off is a lot of excess movement. Putting them on top of your head can get in the way of earpro (and make the inside of the lens funky from sweat, sunscreen, hair oil, etc). I've found it works to just bump them down my nose to shoot, and then pull them back up. Can be done with the firing hand at the end of a shot sequence in under a second.

I said: “THIS is what the nerd up front with glasses sees like!?”

He said- yeah.

I said- “how does he live like this”.
Yeah. Closest thing I've come to experiencing a life crisis. (And that's with a body that's starting to pay me back for years of adventurous living.) Losing mobility sucks but not being able to see is a real head-messer.

I wear progressive bifocals and I can confirm that they can make getting the diopter adjustment challenging. I ended up having a couple of pairs of single Rx glasses made for shooting/hunting.

I set up on my 600 yard gong.

Cliff Notes:

New glasses: diopter set last night.

Shooting glasses: diopter rotated out a slight turn when I switched

No glasses: can't turn it in far enough to get a clear reticle

With both pairs of glasses the target is clear with the reticle readable out to 10x with the parallax set at 50.

At 15x the target is kinda blurry.
At 20x it's more blurry.
At 25x it's very blurry.

At every magnification if I adjust the parallax away from 50 the target becomes more blurry.

If I adjust the diopter to make the target visible the reticle becomes very blurry.

So at 25x I can make the target clear with the diopter all the way out with the parallax at 50 yards but when you turn the parallax is gets blurry AF.

It's like the parralax is installed backwards or upside down or rotated too far.

Exactly what I've been experiencing. I have not experienced this with any other scope.....ever.

For reference, I wear contacts.......a minus 2.0 in my dominant left eye (shoot LH). But I need readers at +1.75 to +2.00.

I’ve got the same issue with mine and I don’t wear glasses.

Mine gives a wow factor at 5x, I notice it starts going down at 10x and progressively gets worse all the way up.

I’m guessing the parallax is adjusted incorrectly
