Pump rifle

Folks,

Being initially from Maine the Remington pumps were pretty common there. My experience with them is that they are solid 1.5" guns or better. If you want a big hammer, find one 35 Whelen. The various professional gun sellers on the Internet should have some. Most common will be in 30-06 but that's not a problem.

I've hunted in a lot of places over the last 40 years. If I only had a 760 etc. in 30-06, I think I could be pretty happy hunting anything except DG.

Also, if you grew up shooting a pump shotgun you'll feel right at home with a 760.

I already got one. Very good condition 30-06 made between 1975-1978.. it came with a period correct steel weaver micro trac scope as well. I was getting ready to replace it but it just feels appropriate

I did replace the “see through” high mounts that appear to be the fad of the era and did infact purchase that exact mount and remount the weaver. I’m still considering selling it for a more modern one
