I'm working up a new custom short action, hunting rifle around an ARC CDG light action and looking for real-world experience with lightweight hunting stocks that work well with this action. Obviously, it's a Rem 700 clone, but may need inletting for the trigger hanger. I know that McMillan does a custom stock specifically for the ARC CDG. Has anyone used another brand of stock with the CDG? What's your experience? Pros vs. Cons? BTW, I run a standard CDG + Xylo chassis on my 223 AI trainer and it is awesome.

I have a cdg lite 25prc (for sale) in a rokstock, a small amount of dremel work for the trigger hanger and it dropped right in.

What bottom metal did you end up using? Did you have to modify the bottom metal itself to make things work? I'd like to go this route with a 6arc with my standard cdg.

I used hawkins hunter dbm. No modifications needed but they were tight to action to get seated.
