I’m wondering the same thing. Trying to decide if I want a RRS 22i or the T3.
For $300 less with the anvil adapter and leg locks, i think the dauntless is the ticket for a gamer tripod. 2 section inverted in general is an advantage for any sort of competition
I had the same thought before I switched. I really liked the height of my 3 section Two Vets Recon for glassing or shooting off in NRL hunter because I didn't have to splay or move any legs to be at the right height so I was hesitant to switch. With the 2 section to glass from I can't quite sit on my heels like I like to but kneeling a little more vertical hasn't been a problem. As far as shooting off of - I don't do near as much as I used to because I am a triple pull cheater now - but when I do I usually just kick a leg out.It just seems like the full height 2 sections are higher than I'd want for seated/kneeling without splaying the legs out - am i missing something? I haven't really done tripod rear much at all so maybe that's it, speed to get it tall?
For doing more seated/kneeling shooting from the tripod, the 3 section min height seemed attractive to me.

One unmentioned benefit of the 2 section is when you are using it for rear there is less twist lock joints to get in the way. I found that whenever I was using the 3 section as rear support in a kneeling or seated position, the twist locks were always right where i wanted to rest my hand/rifle. Other than that, I think the speed of the 2 section makes up for maybe having to elevate slightly for glassing or make an adjustment to shoot off of.
I thought the same on the price but it is probably in line with its competition. Leofoto branded is a few hundred cheaper but doesn't have the anvil adapter or the locking legs and hardly any resale value. RRS is several hundred more. Two vets is within $100.That's perfect input, thanks!
I'm not a triple pull owner yet and unsure if I'm going to go that direction. Decisions decisions.. The "trilogy" is another $150 which doesn't help. $850 for a leofoto is getting harder to accept.
Ah yes, I have the compact. The RRS 22i is the same height as the T3 dauntless at max height. Did you mean the 22i compact?
I run a Leofoto inverted tripod for PRS - spotting and rear tripod. I ran into an issue at a NRL Hunter event where I had to engage through a "tunnel" in trees and needed less height than the 2 section could manage - burned a lot of time splaying legs out. 2 section perfect so far for PRS.It just seems like the full height 2 sections are higher than I'd want for seated/kneeling without splaying the legs out - am i missing something? Yeah, the only venue ive shot NRL at thus far has a fair bit of that and I end up just glassing/shooting seated/kneeling tripod a lot... until i give in and get a triple pull at least.I run a Leofoto inverted tripod for PRS - spotting and rear tripod.
