I live in Florida and last year my home owners insurance rate went up 70%, with only one roof claim in twenty years. Can't wait to see what it's going to be this year when I get my notice in February, if I don't get dropped. Home owners insurance is Florida is getting crazy and the state is slowly turning into a place were only really wealthy people can afford to own and everyone else has to rent. Reminds me a lot of California housing prices and our insurance is now at their level.

Home insurance is weird. We were paying about $1300 a year when living in TN. Moved to Alaska and bought a house that is valued at more than our mortgage or house in TN. Premium dropped to $950 a year for same coverage.

Dropping them. They went up to $170/year on me. I’m over it.
