Man, I just can't get used to people calling a 6.5 creedmorr a "6.5cm." My mind always reads "6.5 centimeters."
Anyway, helpful thread and responses. I am hopefully going on my first antelope hunt next month and am thinking about getting a new gun. I was thinking about a 6.5 creedmoor. Good to read some testimonials. I don't need the gun, but I figure I might as well get one anyway.

I threw together a Tikka T3x 6.5cm with a Mesa altitude stock and topped it with a 3-15x44 Vx5HD its shooting the factory 147 ELD-M's into .43" groups. Ill be packing it to Wy in 3 weeks on an Antelope hunt. It was a tough choice between it and my 25-06 which imo is one of the best pronghorn calibers

Earlier this year I had a 260AI built specifically for a 2021 Antelope hunt

I have built rifles chambered in 25-06 for my wife and myself specifically for pronghorn hunting, but most fellows do not need anything other than their regular deer rifle. Over the past 30years or so I would bet that our average shot was under 200 yards, and only rarely over 300 yards. With a bit of patience and a small amount of hunt skill it is quite possible to get within a reasonable range and they are not very hard to kill.

I've only been antelope hunting once with rifles but from the 9 antelope our family trip yielded. Every rifle from 243, 6 Creed, 6.5 Creed, 25-06, and 308 all killed them without any problems.

Of the 3 I watched, and 1 I shot, 2 were with 143 eld-x, and 2 were with 100 TTSX barnes from 25-06. I'd use either again.

4 with an 30-06, 2 with a 308 and 1 with a 257 Roberts. Seen friends and families use 243s, 264 Win Mags, 7mm Rem Mags and one with a 300 Weatherby. Anything 243 and up would be perfect.

That said, the 25's and 6.5s are would probably be the best in terms of dealing with wind but not being too much gun.

Any acceptable deer cartridge will do the job easily.

My two choices are -

270 Win with 150 gr. Nosler BT hand loads

7mm-08 with 120 gr. Nosler BT hand loads

Step 1: pick a centerfire rifle cartridge that doesn't start with ".22"

Step 2: kill an antelope with it.

Not even really kidding. Most people make the mistake of going too big and destroying shoulders. They're easy to kill.

I've seen vids of people taking them with .22-250's, so what's your intent with conveying this message of no .22's? Is it because of the ranges usually involved for that animal or something? (No experience w/ speed goats, so why I'm asking.) Just want to understand why you consider .22's a no-no in this instance. Thx
