Give an entire country those big Covid checks - huge Covid checks for small businesses, and that spike is what you get. That’s squarely on Trump. If you’re going to use a sound bite you should know what’s behind it.

All that chart proves is the 4 years of Trump was looking fantastic until the deep state released the virus to interfere with the election and all the people who suddenly bought stock in Pfizer right beforehand got filthy rich. Inflation came from the Democrats' lockdowns and layoffs. The Right didn't want any of that.

Cut and paste a list from your oligarch as if it means anything. If you don’t like it bring it up with congress. C-O-N-G-R-E-S-S appropriates money for these things. Rep control of both houses and the presidency and they failed to remind you how the actual process works, but rather has this cluster circus so you can get mad and feel like something is happening.

I don't like it, and DOGE is fixing it. You can write your congressman all you want though and explain that you want it all reinstated.

He’s your guy - you get credit for everything he did. He ended last term with the lowest favorability rate ever and has picked right up where he left off.

No economic degree required - it’s repeating the mixed up talking points that are designed to confuse people into not fully thinking through what has happened and what will happen. What amazes me is how people are so willing to buy into half baked ideas at face value.
Holy word salad! You should win an award for that one 😂!

To stay somewhere close to the topic, I'm still trying to see the correlation between these ridiculous programs and the termination of low paying seasonal federal natural resource positions that actually are required to show up somewhere on time for a certain amount of hours and perform a task the public benefits from? We pay elected officials on both sides of the isle far more to do far less and still nobody is looking that direction.

For the money I am way more comfortable seeing a Park ranger teaching something to kids or knocking a tree off the hiking trail, having a Forester marking a timber sale, maybe LE make an appearance at the trailhead once and a while to deal with idiots breaking into my truck. The loss and cuts to the programs you list is an easy message that those line items are not important to the administration, however cutting natural resources and public lands budgets and positions send the same exact message that is no different from your examples....we as a user group are not important, as I have said in my prior post, it's time to pay attention

Lol yeah that's what I thought.

Rand Paul has been preaching about and listing government spending waste for years, and they always found ways to deflect and ignore. They are absolutely fine with deficit spending and waste as long as big gov remains intact.

Statism is basically a religion, and blasphemy will not be tolerated.

I am thrilled with the job being done. 9/10 rating. Not perfect but great. I made it clear one page 1 what the problem was. Precision cuts and stuff people are moaning in this thread was on the table in this presidents first term. the response from people like you and the other TDS'ers here was to cheer on using lawfare trying to put him jail and to start dumping money down endless holes, open borders, etc etc. So here we are. Making cuts that 6/10 americans are lovin. People know the kids needed the credit card taken away. I am sorry some people are losing their jobs. i said it already. I have been through this process and it sucks. But as we have seen time and time again in this thread. You and others refuse to even acknowledge there was glaring fat to be trimmed. So this is the way it had to happen. Sorry. Thats what happens when we have had years and years of mismanagement capped by the last 4 years of absolute disaster. How anything in this thread has remotely help people related to conservation, I have no clue.

Someone has to at least acknowledge the irony of putting the person who received the greatest wealth transfer in history in charge of an economic problem where the biggest glaring issue is growing wealth disparity. Then blaming our issues on the BLM employee making $20/hr…. While cutting none of his own funding. If he had a history of selflessness maybe you could trust him to martyr himself for the greater good. But he doesn’t.

We simply have different definitions and are using different information to determine who is stealing our money. But instead of challenging the points made, just imagine us with blue hair and nose rings to make yourselves feel justified.

That’s the problem of trusting a tech oligarch with the job. He’s not us, yet he’s judge jury and executioner, what he sees as waste is going to be miles different than what many normal Americans see as waste. He’s not like us.

Thats why we have a system that doesn’t allow for unilateral decision making. But the executive branch is growing and the other branches are being trimmed. It’s not smaller just consolidated.

My understanding is the goal was to cut X number of federal employees. They offered the buyout to get the ball rolling. I’m not 100% on the exact details of how it works, but new hires/promoted employees have a probation period where they can get axed for no real reason (vs ppl in a position long term). Those layoffs probably affected a wide array of people who were simply in the wrong position at the wrong time.

Just like most layoffs they aren’t focused on the people just the numbers. Not sure what the next phase will be, but I’m sure there will be more layoffs ahead to achieve their goal (right or wrong).

We got in this mess because of Congress spending and fraud and kickbacks, there's a reason they're poor when they get elected and rich after a while. We need a billionaire who doesn't need the money to fix that level of corruption because Congress isn't going to cut off their income. This is a nonpartisan problem, they're all abusinf the system to a certain degree. There's absolutely zero good reason to oppose DOGE audits. You guys are opposing DOGE because your team told you it's bad, your team told you it's bad because they're getting exposed with fraudulent and wasteful spending. The Left's only play here is to attempt to discredit Elon and claim it's not legal and Congress has to fix it, they can't have Elon fixing things because they'll probably end up getting primaried or end up brought up on fraud charges for the worst ones. There's no *good* reason to oppose DOGE audits.

I don’t trust how they are going about it because of in part who is doing it. Also, I disagree with how they are going about it. It’s not efficient or well thought out an it’s cut first figure it out later. There is no representation of our interest it’s one man’s opinion on waste. One he has demonstrated to be, so far, self serving. A man who isn’t likely to see waste the same way I do.

If Aldo Leupold were up there taking an ax to things or something like that then I could rest a bit more at ease that his priorities align better. But in the end that wouldn’t work out for others. There is a reason why the constitution puts those powers not in the executive but the legislative branch.

The system you speak about was a Democracy set up by the US Constitution. We lived by the laws enacted by Congress, you know WE THE PEOPLE. Now we have an autocracy based on conspiracy theories and mis-information that is controlled by an oligarchy. Everyone knew what was coming because of what transpired during the first term. The coup failed yet here we are with the same monkeys on our backs. I will feel fortunate if there is a hunting season this fall and we are still getting our SS and Medicare….benefits that we have already paid for!
