The timing on this thread is funny. Just yesterday I was adding up in my head some of the costs of new stuff I'm gonna pick up this year and I started to cringe. I specifically work extra overtime to pay for all of my hunting gear and adventures so my outdoor pursuits do not adversely affect the family finances.

In the ballpark of $7000...........then comes the price of out of state tags, Montana $1000 + Idaho x 2 another $1000........but hey you can't put a price tag on the sport we love! If you can afford it, go for it, you only live once and you can't take it with you:)

Ha ha..this is a great thread. The way I justified the cost was when I drew my Wyoming sheep tag, I figured I could outfit myself with the best backpacking gear available for half the price of a guided hunt. Makes a lot of sense to me!

P.S. Fortunately I already had the rifle!

I don't buy that! You're way too big of a gear junky........ :)

Agreed! But those side by sides are pretty expensive....

What he doesn't mention is that he owns a couple of ATVs, they just aren't side by sides :)

You will hear no complaints from me, since a lot of his gear purchasing is to my benefit :)
