I want to buy premade meals for an elk trip. I am thinking I would rather have more than less, and I want to buy in bulk. Where do y'all buy from? Sorry if this isn't where this is sup post to go. Going to be gone for 8 days.

Heck that could be the move. Have you had them? You could just buy the "base camp" bucket from peak refuel.
I dont think you can go wrong with that. I am just trying to check things off the list. Thank you for the help.I have had dozens of peak meals. Maybe not everything in the bucket, not sure. I have about 40 in my stockpile. Chicken and rice is probably my favorite.
Now this is an idea there! The Peak meals are awesome but another option, and what I started doing and haven’t looked back, is buying the Mtn House bulk cans then packaging your own using Wallaby Mylar MRE bags. This way you can control both portion size and how much air is in the bag which has helped with space taken up in the pack. Also if you catch their sales it is definitely the cheapest option.
Just an idea that hasn’t been thrown out there yet. Takes me about 10 mins to knock that chore out.
+1 on Peak Refuel dinner entrees. I've been using them for a few years and trying other options as well. I would not spend money on their granola or desserts as it's just not worth the calorie to cost ratio. Their breakfast skillet is pretty good and you can use the meal to make 2 breakfast burritos if you don't mind packing some tortillas for the calorie boost. The biscuits and gravy is one of their best meals and I actually eat it for dinner occasionally because of the calorie content (a packet of cholula hot sauce goes well in it if that's your thing - free at Qdoba).
If you do like granola for breakfast, check out Angry Pika. They are a family owned business in Montana and make some amazing granola meals, use excellent ingredients and have tons of calories packed in them. I usually pick them up from gohunt when they have discounts running (gritty, spring20 both are working codes today)
You can also buy powdered milk to add in to your coffee and/or granola meals to boost the calorie content at a minimal weight penalty.
PRO BAR Meal Bars are pretty nice to keep you going throughout the day. I'll add in some Honey Stinger energy chews or waffles, a calorie dense bar and a small zip loc packed with mixed nuts and a few pieces of chocolate.
Dang you weren't kidding more. They look quality though!Gastro Gnome meals are my new thing. Theyre more expensive but they feel more like a real meal to my stomach. Peak meals can be real hit or miss in my experience. Sometimes they wont rehydrate right or its just missing a flavor. All of the pro hunter meals steve rinella chris whoever ive tried sucked in one way or another. On the other hand some of the basic ones are pretty good for the price. For me my stomach feels better after eating the gastro gnome meals for days on end. The cheaper brands give me gas station food stomach after a couple days.
I've packed tortillas for all sorts of things, but somehow never thought to pack the breakfast skillet with a couple tortillas. That's a great tip!+1 on Peak Refuel dinner entrees.
