BLUF: anybody throw a pre-fit on their Ruger American? If so what brand did you go with and kind of accuracy are you getting?
For more background: I bought a .223 Ruger American Gen 2 for fun to see if I can upgrade it to make a decent coyote gun and work up a load that shoots well. I’ve done a bunch of upgrades to make it a pretty nice rifle (added epoxy to stock to firm it up, lighter trigger spring, polished the bolt, lighter firing pin spring, added a longer bolt knob, added ARCA rail to the fore end). Found a load with 65gr Sierra SBTs that consistently shoot ~.5” 5 shots groups.
Pretty great rifle but I’m about halfway through its barrel life and thinking I’d like to slap on a pre-fit at some point and curious what brand guys are getting and the type of accuracy their getting with it.
Right now i’m tracking that Preferred Barrels and x-caliber makes pre-fits for them.
