Prc click question

Without reading all the info on multiple sites to get a simple question answered I figured I'd ask here...

Had a prc built and I believe I'm getting the click on some brass as it is fired a second time, possibly a 3rd on some.

My question is this, is this brass now junk if I were to have my chamber honed to fix the issue?

If the brass is now garbage I may just have it rebarreled and start with a new set of 100 brass unfortunately.

The brass isnt junk and will be just fine if you run a larger based reamer through! Could also try a different resize die to resize the base of the cases. The bullet central dies are supposed to resize the base but it all depends on your chamber dimensions!

Brass isn’t junk but click will get worse. You might try to get a slightly bigger reamer, but you’re playing with fire if the smith doesn’t get it lined up perfect. You might also try running your brass at a lower velocity node.

I'd run the reamer. Barrels junk without it anyway
The couple we've reamed with the aw2 the clicker brass worked just fine after reaming sans click.

@amassi were you able to run the reamer by hand?

I did not my gunsmith did them. My handiness with gunsmithing ends around rifle bedding.

But, plenty of guys over on longrangeonly are using a t handle and doing it by hand. Doesn't look too intimidating, removes a very tiny amount of material.

Alex Wheeler. The reamer prints he’s released for public are available from JGS. He has several depending on the flavor of PRC. If you are looking for the 6.5 PRC version it is named 6.5 PRC AW 2. Note that the freebore on this reamer is .1879”, There are many reamer‘s out there with shorter so if you run this one in you might be making changes there as well.

Sometimes the type of action can cause premature pressure click. Some magnums do this

Cnn you elaborate? What is a premature pressure click?
Sure... When the Action is purposely built with specific material to be light weight it can allow cases to be more effected by pressures not normally effecting the same cases and same pressures with a harder heavier material action.
