Thoughts on the higher capacity, deeper finned, transmission pans sold by PPE? Solid product that will help cool transmission while towing or not worth it. When I tow with the baby duramax and 10 speed, usually running atound 210-225 while towing my 7500 pound RV - which everyone says is normal in these new vehicles, but if a $300 pan and some extra fluid would keep me 20-40 degrees cooler and help extend transmission life - why not?

I have one on my 06 Duramax and have been happy with it. Never really saw a huge temp drop on the transmission temp with the bigger pan but, i did see a difference when i put a bigger transmission cooler on the front of the truck.

An external cooler would be a much better option as it actually provides a mechanism to cool the fluid. Pans just provide capacity which takes longer to heat up.

PPE is probably sufficient. I’d suggest checking out Banks stuff. They put quite a bit of R&D and science into their products.
