Nock height

I just recently went to re-tie my d loop and nocking points for the first time. Went down a rabbit hole and saw some people recommend setting the nocking height 1/8” high and some recommend center nocking for tuning. Can someone who is more knowledgeable than me (anyone) please explain why you would want to tie in high when cam timing is so important? Wouldn’t the strings being at different lengths negatively affect the arrow coming off the string? Maybe way overthinking this but my initial reaction was to nock dead center, time cams, and tune from there. Thanks for any advice or if the advice is it doesn’t matter that’s fine too, just looking for some clarity before I go to start practicing with my broadheads and don’t want to keep moving it ideally.

A lot of bows tune well having the arrow level , and the bottom of the arrow through the centre of the Berger hole. Can’t remember why though. Unfortunately the more you read up on bow tuning , the more it becomes an art rather than a science.

Nock is high so if you are shooting a steep downward angle, it helps to put a little load on the front of the arrow, helping to keep it from lifting off the rest.

Personally, I tie a d loop dead even between cams for tuning, but use soft nocks inside the loop to raise the nock point slightly. Generally 3 wraps above, 6-7 below the nock.

If a short ATA bow, just a couple soft nocks under the nock, top of nock under top knot of the loop.
