I have a cva Lrx 45 cal. What’s everyone’s favorite powders to run? Hunting notheastern whitetail. Been running blackhorn but expensive and hard to find!

Triple Seven But it requires swabbing between shots for range time as to a crud ring. As BH209 you can shoot several times. An option is finding a Retail online Seller of BH209 that has Free Haz Mat when your order amounts to 99.99 of powders & primers as some require you to have an order of only hazard items for the 99.99.
These pop up now and then. So you can have it shipped to you...
Some sub T7 for shooting and switch to BH209 for hunting...

I bought a few pounds of BH209 a few years back and that's all I use now. It's treated me the best and had the best accuracy with the most consistent ignition of any powder or pellet I've tried. It's not even close. I don't shoot a ton with my muzzleloader so those few pounds should last me quite a while. I know I paid about $50ea and I see it locally for around $90 now. That's a hard pill to swallow but considering how many times I've had failures on some of the best whitetails I end up seeing that year, it's worth it to me.

When it was Western Powder now Hodgdon it was 10 oz and it was only 34.99. Compared to today it is at the lowest price $85.99 and then few places carry it locally. So sure if you don't shoot a lot you can be good but when getting a ML dialed in it can take some to get there. It now is only 8 oz unless you can buy the big container but that is some $!
Maybe why some convert their ML to a SML. As Smokeless Powders is less cost. Some that shoot convert Omegas & others see the savings just the cost of a Barrel & Breech Plug can be some coin.

Bh209 is the best black powder sub, hands down (if you’re using a rifle capable of shooting it).

777 is second.

Everything else is a distant third.

In a state that allows it, though, smokeless (in a rifle rated for) it is nirvana!!
