Polaris Ranger problems

Hey guys. I know there are Polaris Ranger specific forums but I thought I'd start here since I know there's a lot of knowledge on this forum!

I've got a 2013 Polaris Ranger 800. When it's warmed up, it's starts and runs with no issues.

However, when it's cold (sitting in my garage which is about 50 degrees) and it hasn't been started for a few days, it cranks, fires, runs for a second, then dies. Typically I've had to then wait 15-20 minutes and then start it again and it will run. If I don't wait, it just cranks and kills the battery.

Today, I went to start it to plow my driveway and it did the same thing. Fired then died immediately. But today, instead of waiting, I disconnected the positive battery terminal, reconnected and tried to start it right away. It fired up immediately. So, something seems to be wrong electrically.

If anyone has any thoughts or tips on what to try to get rid of this issue I'd appreciate it! I typically try to fix these things myself without taking it to the dealer. If I can figure it out myself, that would be fantastic.

Thanks!

I would look into the throttle position sensor first. They aren't too expensive and have had a couple fail on various Polaris machines in the past.

The electrical panel/fuse box should be under the back seat. There are relays in there for the fuel system. Cheap and easy to replace, that’s where I’d start. Fuel pump is also cheap and easy to replace.

Thanks for the message! So, the genuine Polaris part is like $250 - but I can get one on Amazon or O'reilly for like $30 - any reason to not buy the non-oem version? I know you get what you pay for - but not sure that applies here 😊 Will anything need to be done with the computer after I replace this? I am guessing no...
