I here you on the surface of your sentiments. I am also a person that is generally more rational than the next, butttt........In reading through this post, there’s one thing that turns my stomach more than the actions of the poachers, and that is some of the comments from fellow hunters. There is no question the poachers actions are morally, ethically, legally wrong. But calling for ridiculous measures (lock them up forever and throw away the key, hope they get the same treatment someday, hope they get shanked) sounds an awful lot like the extreme liberal animal rights activists who put more value on animal lives than human life.
As I try to reason my way through some of the comments and thought process, it goes like this:
We’re looking at a sow and baby bears, shot in their den, out of season. Again, morally, ethically, legally wrong in my opinion.
But let’s break it down, sow and baby bears. I’m sure I can count out that this is all just from them being fuzzy cuddly bears, the same ones that the antis send death threats about the hunting of.
If it’s for killing the babies, do we call for the lives of people who harvest deer fawns, elk calves, shoot young prairie dogs etc? I won’t even ask what to do with people killing human babies (abortion).
So then we’re at the shot in the den part. Again, not cool, but do we also condone those who shoot deer, elk, coyotes etc in their beds from 1000 yds away? Or trapping muskrats, raccoons, beaver, badgers in their dens?
So if it’s not that they are fuzzy cuddly bears, young, in their den, then we are down to the legal aspect. Calling for life sentences, shanking, shooting of poachers is pretty harsh isn’t it?
Obviously a lot of the examples are not apples to apples, but we as a hunting community need to keep reason and common sense in mind while posting on social media. The antis could misconstrue and use a lot of these comments against us. I felt like I was accidentally on an animal rights website while reading some of the comments.

I for one can't believe that taking a bear while hibernating would be legal in any state, if that is the case then some regulation need to be changed. Someone would have to give me a solid reason for taking a hibernating bear. Hunter safety class isn't going to do any good foe these two jackasses.
Wrathchild, I am positive that ADFG does a way better job at managing fisheries and wild game than my state of Washington. Hell my grandson could do a better job at wildlife management than WDFG and he is two years old. I am all for managing predators, however, If it’s about managing predators then they should extend the season and or issue more tags.

From what I can gather, they do the same, or worse. mtmuleyIn a few very limited areas it is allowed for subsistence and predator management. ADFG is in my opinion an excellent agency, and I trust their judgement on these things.
Yeah that's beyond sick. What I found Ironic though is how stupid they are to get caught on Video doing this and the brother saying they will never be able to trace it back to us. Wow. They take the cake of the dumbest poacher of all times. They should of gotten many years in Prison for this senseless killing. The poor cubs screaming was heartbreaking.
And how would you know that? mtmuleyThis reads like a post on the HSUS or PETA website.
