Can't believe taking a bear in a den is legal due to the inability for the person to tell whether there are cubs present or not. After you kill a bear and discover the cubs, you either leave them to starve or break another law to do the possibly more humane thing??? Bad situation.
Lying and covering up likely increased the sentence more than anything. I completely understand that they broke a law, and then made the situation WAY worse in breaking more laws to try to cover it up...
This thread is sort of surreal. Would any of us shoot an elk calf? Even using the term "baby bears" vs cubs strikes me as peculiar. Anybody "high 5" a hunting partner after a successful shot? Ever been videoed on a game cam without your knowledge?
Not defending all of their actions by any means, but some of the comments here sound like they're coming from anti-hunters.
Why is that legal anywhere is a question also??? Are they killing the bears to reduce predators or are they just terrible sportsman? Not that I’d condone that “hunt” at all!!!!!!!!
