Nothing fancy, I carry two knives in my pack a Havalon Piranta and a buck 102 (4" fixed blade). Then the small Case sod buster, my edc is in my pocket.

Richard

I have all 3 of these exact knives! Great choices!

Joel Clark Custom. Known as the "16Bore"

Do you know if Joel is still making knives? I follow his stuff on FB but he hasn't posted any updates in a long time. Did I miss the boat on getting one of his?

His is, but I believe he's in the process of building a new house/shop. Probably taking a break until it's all wrapped up.

Thanks. I love seeing his work, and I've always wanted a custom knife. Hopefully once he's back up and running I can get an order in.

Benchmade Bushcrafter for me. Does camp chores and breaks down game. Custom sheath since I wasn't a fan of the included one.

I like it a lot. It's definitely not a detail knife but for taking the hide off with ease, it works great. With it being titanium and having the carbide edge it's like a serrated edge and works very well at separating the skin from the fascia/meat. The serrated like blade allows you to work fast and you don't really have to worry about slipping or making a bad cut and cutting through the hide. It will cut through the hide but you have to try to do that. I also have a Havalon but I don't like using it as much for general skinning, because it's so sharp I'm not able to work as fast or I end up making a lot of mistakes and cutting through the hide. One little slip with the Havalon and you're through the hide, but not so with the ti Kestrel. I'm also a big fan of UL gear as long as it works well and I don't think there is a lighter skinning knife out there.

I've only skinned on bear with my Kestrel caper but like AK TB, I was incredibly impressed. I've since a picked up that bull nosed skinner and will keep the Havalon in that ultralight stable for the detail work on the cape.

Jacob, I picked up a Knives of Alaska see the Idaho Curt had "rehandled" in his fancy Myrtle. One of a kind and is another great "working" set. I've got a set of sheep horn scaled Doug Campbell Damascus hunter and caper that I have a hard time putting on my belt.

Will dig them out and grab a pic for you.

The two fixed blade knives are both Ruana Steelhead models. They have roughly a 3.5" blade and are made here in Western Montana. Nothing fancy but they are a good solid knife. I really like them. The middle one is a USA made Schrade knife I really like also. I have a Buck 110 which is just like this one. You can't hardly beat them.

Here is a line-up of the Ruana knives they make. Very impressive. You can get them with wood handles and other types of handles also.

I used this Herter's knife to skin an elk for processing last fall. Really like that knife also. A buddy got two of them at a garage sale and had a friend of his make sheaths for them by hand. He gave me one of the knives. Pretty cool gift. I took and sanded the wood handle down and put a nice new finish on it and tried to polish out some of the scratches on the blade. I then put a killer edge on it. Quite a story this thing cold tell if it could talk!!

Favorite EDC knife is a Benchmade mini-barrage! Love that knife.

Top to bottom:
Matt Lamey, Karl B Andersen, Enzo camper, Jeff Springer, me, me, Rob Bailey, me.

The top knife with the Orange handle, I built 6 years ago & I couldn't tell you how many critters it's processed. It's been my go-to hunting knife ever since I made it.
The other Orange job, I finished a few weeks back for my elk hunt this year. It's a bit heavier & should do really well as a do it all knife.
