I don't feel like I've seen many pics of the sort of deer I'm thinking of... looking for pics of heavy but tall and narrow mule deer. If any of you have pics, I'd love to see them

Theres a herd of hybrids that live on the aero jet property un folsom with the same genetics.

Short of genetic testing I don’t but he was a ways East of I5 and had traits of both blacktail and mule deer. Small head/ears on a huge body.

The top left and the top right look like the same genetics...did you shoot them in the same area? crazy racks on those wide ones...

This year's buck was only about 15" inside, but was by far the biggest bodied deer I've ever shot (couldn't believe it when I walked up on him). I almost passed on him, and passed on a half dozen or so 4x4s and 4x5s before deciding he "looked old" and I wanted this one, and was pleasantly surprised by the mass...
Not the biggest I've shot, definitely not the smallest, but probably the heaviest. Maybe my favorite in recent memory. My 72 year old dad (non-hunter) helped me pack him out a couple miles by moonlight. Good times.
