Good friend at work recently built this for me. Some may have seen the rifle stock build I did last winter in the DIY section. I now have a matched set, custom rifle / custom knife both of the same block of Turkish walnut .
This is a special one. I plan on doing more hunting knives like this. Partial Tang .08” magnacut @ 63.5 HRC. 4” blade, 4.25” handle. 4.5 oz (very light for a knife of this size)
I've had a number of Gene Ingram knives, and enjoyed trying various builds, but I found his #7 Drop Point was pretty much the sweet spot for what I like. I ordered one in October of 2018. Then, as we all know, Gene had some health issues, and is now semi-retired, no longer taking orders. However, he very kindly let me know he'd fulfill my long-standing order and this past January I received it.
#7 Drop Point 7 1/8 x 3
S30V
Polished Green Linen Micarta
12 Pin SS Mosaics
Leather Sheath RH Loop.
Caribou V2 Skinning knife I’ve been working on. Really like how this one feels and performs. MagnaCut steel, 416 SS bolsters, and blue burl Box Elder handle material. Unzipped 3 Yukon bulls and still sharp enough for more.
My Deering Pukko is my all-time favorite. Jonathan is a good friend of mine and his work is right up there among the best of them. He does the leather himself too, which is also crazy nice.
