I’ve been doing some custom engraving on some titanium brakes I made. I’m wondering if anyone has pics of stuff that they have had engraved after cerakote? Wondering if it will chip the coating on the edges, and trying to get ideas of what color contrasts look good.

The engraving looks good, but because I’m doing really fine detail I can’t go very deep, so it isn’t very visible. (Full elk silhouette / lettering stuffed onto the top/bottom of a muzzle brake)

The black is cerakote, the other is duracoat. I used a new hermes on both. The diamond scratch does not chip them and the rotary is clean....I don't have any pics of it handy. I pretty much use the new hermes diamond drag on all my builds.20150411_151125.jpg20160402_161518.jpg

Kind of along the lines of what I’m looking for. I’m thinking about doing some stencil type engraving on high end rifles. Not a quick little chambering engraving or simple logo.

Kind of similar to hand engraving like you see on high end shotguns.

The machine engraving I did on the brakes has detail that is only a few thou around the elk antlers. It’s just hard to see and thinking if I do cerakote and then engrave it would look a lot better because it would stand out more. I’m going to test it out on my new build and engrave an outdoors scene on my bottom metal after cerakote.

It'll look great. One cool thing on the elk is you could base color the cerakote and then tape it, engrave tthrough the tape and then peel the antlers and dust it with a different color.

What do you get for a ti brake?

Free.99 so far. I’ve given some away or traded. Haven’t sold any before. I just made a lot to play with the engraving on.

When you get to spinning some up, I'd be interested in one. I have a couple of light weights that are kicking my butt.
