I remember seeing a little lake similar to the one you pictured but surrounded on all side by mountains. It was the true classic mountain 'bowl' lake. I was quite impressed that someone landed their Piper Cub on it. They must have flown in circles to land it. It was possibly near the small town of Gulkana AK if I remember correctly, off the Richardson Hwy.

Thanks! I took a little artistic license with it but it was a pretty cool evening to be snapping some shots!
