This photo is PHENOMINAL!

Thanks. It was quite a random thing. We were actually driving from San Jose to Kansas City on Super Bowl Sunday listening to the game on the way. We were somewhere in eastern Nevada and had stopped for gas around halftime. As we got back on the highway the sky just lit up with amazing color. I found a place to exit and just happened to find the tracks. Sometimes (most times) it's all about being lucky and being in the right place at the right time...with a camera.

Here's a different perspective of that same spot.

Not the greatest photo but my first banded duck on "film". I'm pretty sure it's a band although it isn't the typical silver color. However, I have this photo and another that both show something definitely on the birds leg.

I agree. I think I have my camera pretty well figured out right now and want to upgrade but cannot afford to right now but right time right place is absolutely true. Those colors are amazing for sure

Cinnamon teal?

Yup. As a waterfowl hunter from the Midwest, we never had them around us. Since being out on the west coast so much, they are everywhere when I'm out taking photos of birds. Wish I could get some in front of me during a hunting season.

A Bald Eagle with a pristine white head is always nice but I tend to enjoy the dirty, roughed up, "been doin' work" look like you captured. This one just seems to be channeling Billy Idol. "It's a nice day for a white wedding..." :D
