Picked up a new camera and trying to get better at shooting in manual mode. I also got to test drive my new Tamron 2x teleconverter with my Tamron 150-600 lens with the full moon this weekend. I have room for improvement but I am happy with the results.

What settings did you shoot this at? Seems it could be a bit sharper as you either have lag and blur in the exposure length or your tripod was a tid unsteady.

It seems counter-intuitive but you actually want to stop down and have a quick(ish) shutter for a full(ish) moon. Low ISO too.

One of these days I'd love to get together with all of you AK photogs and have some fun. Probably have to be spring so it doesn't interrupt fishing or hunting. Plus, gotta take advantage of dark skies.

Thanks for the feedback Brad! I think I had the lens slightly out of focus...grrr.
ISO100 , F/13, 1/30sec at 1200mm.

I am looking forward to trying to get some aurora pics in the coming weeks.

That would be fun. I would love to pick up some pointers from you guys. Let me know if you want to make it happen.

Denali this past weekend!

I'll be up your way in 2 weeks but we do have a fairly busy plan of slaying salmon then chasing bou. If nothing else, maybe next summer around the packraft rondy.
