Younger dog got a rooster today. When I say got, I mean she bit it in the bush and didnt flush. It ended up getting away and I shot it on the ground as it tried running from us. I wonder if it may have been wounded prior to us finding it because it never made an attempt to fly. Either way, the legs had a weird green slime on them. Anyone know what it is or why?

Wound infection. Seen it on other fowl and ungulates, it’s nothing to be scared of. Could have been from BB’s or fighting with other roosters is my guess.

Just pitch the legs since there won’t be much of anything left after trimming that out.

Infections can travel through the bloodstream. Ever heard of sepsis. I would not risk it . But to each their own.
