If the arms holes or the ability to convert to a parka (or if you can't find the right sized bag) aren't something you're looking for, then yeah.

The FF and WM bags are the gold standard, but the Solace has some pretty neat features and the quality of materials and construction is right up there.

I thought pretty good. Looks like the dimensions and fill weight are very similar w/ the Badger, so my guess is they will be very, very close on volume when packed.

I’ve been pretty “out” on Peax in general but have to say this is review and field use examples are compelling - if you’re going to be out for long trips, the extra weight of those “features” look like they could really be nice for thriving.

I haven’t been a fan of the product approach Peax has taken (ie they are all over the map) but it’s obvious that some of the crowd sourced field testing is paying off. The “we solve problems specific to hunters” idea to what they do is kind of working for them in this case. Nice to see for sure.

To be honest I hadn’t even heard of them before I was asked to review the bag, I thought it was pronounced pee-axe. My wife (obviously smarter than me) said “I think it’s probably peaks”- ahhh that makes more sense

So you would not pack your puffy jacket if you used this bag?

The good folks at Peax and Rokslide have provided me with a Solace 15 bag to review.

Received the bag today, so a just a few casual observations. I put it on my scales (two different scales) and get 2 lbs 5 oz for the weight (the stuff sack provided weighs 1.2 oz), their listed weight is 2 lbs 5.5. oz, so pretty much spot on.

This is the regular size, it's also offered in a wide and a wide and tall. I'm 5'11" (180-ish) and the bag has plenty of room for me, don't think I'd want or need a wide or wide/tall.

The bag utilizes 850 hydrophobic (water resistant) down and is filled with 22.1 oz of it. That's quite a bit of fill for a 15° bag (that's good ). Just a quick comparo, my Feathered Friends Lark is a 10° bag and is filled with 20 oz and is all of a 10° bag. The Solace is cut a little roomier, so sure some of that increased fill is needed for that.

Anywho, I'll get to use the Solace in the coming days on several different trips.

I ordered this bag and it was a little narrow. I, 6’, 225. I lift and train a lot and have wide shoulders. The solace Wide won’t be available again until October per Peax. What bags would you recommend for someone like me. Looking for a 15 degree bag

Well the shoulder width on the regular is 64” (wide is 66”) so something wider than 64”.

Feathered Friends wides are 64” so they are a no go.

Western Mountaineering has a semi rectangular bag (Ponderosa) that is 67” wide that might work.

I haven’t tried the peax but if it measures 64” that is typically wide. Might try Stone Glacier I have wider shoulders than most. 6’1” at 220-225 and I don’t feel constructed at all. Previously Kelly Arete wide at 64” worked fine.
