PEAX DUO Headlamp Failure?

No mine was a hardware issues, I even pulled the battery out and put it in a battery specific charger and still didn't work. Peax sent me a new headlamp so that was nice but I just wouldn't buy it again. The red is super bright but for the weight and price I would rather spend my money on other pieces of gear.

There is a Youtube review between the Peax and Sofrin. The Sofrin doesn't perform as well as the Peax. I'm not a fan boy I just saw the video when looking for a headlamp. I ended up buying one and I'm gonna be taking it bear hunting this year. So we will see.

Yeah, I was going to buy a Sofrin and went with the Peax on sale after watching that performance comparison.

Thanks for all the feedback, sounds like when they work they are great for the most part, but there has been a few failures. I'm personally a bit put-off by the idea you can't use just any USB C, my son has a SLONIK headlamp which is very similar but without the red light. The battery isn't quite as powerful but he's had it a few years with lots of heavy use and it takes any Micro USB which is the same as our Garmin's which is handy. You can also buy the upgraded batteries which is handy. I think I'll try the SLONIK or the SOFIRN and get a fresh start. PEAX agreed to just refund me. Would have a tough time trusting it on a long dark hunt after having it fail a day out of the box. I'm sure it's an anomaly but I'll try another.

As an update, I've been using my SoFirn pretty hard since April. Mine (I bought 3) came with 3000 MiAH batteries. They have been outstanding. Even if the Peax is slightly better (which I don't know, never tried them) the point of diminishing returns favors the SoFirn. I bought them for slightly more than Peax sells THE BATTERY for.

Doesn’t sound exactly like your situation, but I had an issue with mine when I didn’t use the supplied USB C cable. Apparently the depth of those adapters matter, so whatever I was using wasn’t creating a connection to charge. Once I got the right cable, I was good to go.
That's good to know, sort of a PIA that a universal USB cable doesn't work. Seems like an easy thing to resolve. I think that the port you plug into the wall may matter as well, I had another electronic fail that I've historically charged on that port fail as well so maybe not a headlamp issue after all.

I am going to give that one a shot, my Black Diamond doesn't hold a charge all that well. I keep a battery bank but I like the idea of running the Sofirn and buying some extra batteries that I precharge. Thanks for the update!
