PBB Helical 1-12 Fluting

23 inch .308 blank .810 taperless 3lbs on the dot. The 1 in 12 helical flutes cut 8 oz. They accidentally shipped it first without fluting so I was able to weigh exact weight reduction.

What’s the weight compared to the factory barrel it’s next to?

Well id assumed that their hybrid lite profile matched the tikka lite. Guess I was wrong.

It's a bit thicker.

23.25" 25 prc

Vs

24.3" 300 mag factory tikka lite

Pbb is 0.1 oz heavier.

First post here. Following up on this thread. I am considering a 26" taperless 900 with helical flutes from PBB for 7 RM build. How are these barrels shooting for y'all?

I just received my PBB barrel with 1-12 helical fluting. I've never been real wild about fluting but I decided to give this one a try to cut weight. 20", tikka hybrid contour (similar to 0.75" taperless), 7 SAW II. Weight is right at 33 oz. Like a previous poster showed, it comes out about the same weight as a factory tikka barrel. I am really liking it.

Interesting. That’s exactly what my 20” Hybrid Lite contour with 1:8 spiral fluting in 7 SAUM came out to. Agreed it’s an impressive weight for a .75 barrel.

From the diagrams, it looks lighter than the .75 taperless. A shorter full thickness shank and reduces down to .75 sooner.

I’m planning on a 280ai barrel on an origin action. I don’t see the hybrid listed so I will probably go .75 taperless with the helical 12 flutes

Pretty sweet! Within an ounce of my 7prc proof sendero carbon
