I’m wondering what the best way to receive payment and pay people for guns and gun parts if bought and sold on here? Obviously I don’t want to get scammed or anything like that.

if im unsure of a seller I make sure he's in possession of the item, picture of username written down with item in picture. This will avoid 99% issues in my experience. I usually will ask for a phone number and have a small chat with seller, feel them out. Theres always legit questions to ask when buying something used to feel them out.

all sellers will have different methods they can take, some only mailed, some only online. paypal venmo zelle seem to be the most prevalent. For mailed would be usps money order, bank check. Some can even take credit cards but not common. Most will not offer any protections if a firearm.

Buying, deal with verifiable members, prompt communication prior to payment, then mail a personal check, let them verify the funds are good and expect prompt shipping and tracking information.

Selling, expect prompt communication before shipping/payment, prompt payment and provide tracking information immediately afterwards, followed by appropriate feedback

If it's a firearm, use an FFL for peace of mind. You can call an FFL in the seller's area to do the shipping and can send the money via whatever electronic means once the FFL has it in their possession and verifies that it is in fact a Acme Model X or whatever and passes a function check.

If you as the buyer are paying all of the fees, any legitimate seller should have no problem taking it to a nearby FFL to ship rather than UPS or wherever.

FWIW, I was trying to buy a Citori one time that was posted on another site and found a nearby FFL and the seller refused to do it. Said he was his own FFL and didn't need to go to my FFL, even though I was going to pay the fees. He gave me a bogus pawn shop address in a little nowhere town that wouldn't pick up their phone. When I offered to drive there (halfway across the state) because I was going to be within a couple hours of him, he got all squirrely and stopped communicating. I'm sure it was a scam.
