It's call Ivonne le pewWhat’s Patagonia? Sounds like women’s perfume!
AHHH YES, I knew something was amiss.Patagonia Billionaire Who Gave Up Company Skirts $700 Million Tax Hit

Truly selfless of him
I'll disagree having a geology degree. When man, cave man, appeared on the geological record there were so many animal extinctions that it formed a boundary for a geological period. That's early man with spears!!! Us humans have dominated natural history from the start!! Hell yes!!The earth has been changing long before we ever had any input, we humans are not even a spec on the natural history here!

Fairly certain Yvon would not want to see an animal go to waste, considering his early years as a trapper and hunter, and that back in the day he and his family would collect roadkill deer and deliver it to wild animal rescues to be used for food (but jokingly mentioned that the backstraps would always be missing). [source for this was his appearance on the meateater podcast, and I also think he's mentioned it elsewhere].Apples to oranges. You have no idea if the Patagonia founder would let you on his private land to retrieve a dead animal.

Yup, something is amiss. My first strong inclination of it was when the Gates Foundation wanted to experiment with blocking out the sun via "Solar Geoengineering" despite the fact that we are already in a Grand Solar Minimum. I got another indication when I read up about his gmo crops that thrive in lower intensity light and all the farmland hes been buying. Look it up if you don't understand what I'm referencing here.As was stated above, lots of posters (myself included) don’t live in places where glaciers exist. Folks who do with whom I have spoken generally seem to understand that something is amiss. It isn’t that glaciers don’t expand and receding over time, it is the rate at which glaciers have receded over the past couple of decades which highlights things many want to dismiss. A few years ago we went to a spot in AK where arrow heads and such were being exposed due to a snow patch melting. I initially thought “who cares” because if they were being exposed then there was a point where mankind lived in AK where their arrow landed atop the snow. But then it occurred to me how many centuries the snow was building, and how (relatively) few years it took for it to recede to expose the arrow heads.
Fair. Rather a comparison between someone who is attempting to make a difference, who is acting altruistically, vs someone who is just acting based on greed. Anyone who is attempting to landlock public land, even though they already control hundreds of thousands of acres, is not someone I would support. Yvon is a strong supporter of public lands and public access.Apples to oranges. You have no idea if the Patagonia founder would let you on his private land to retrieve a dead animal.

Yet, he opposes certain kinds of hunting. What types of hunting does Ivvone le pew approve of?Yvon is not an anti-hunter.
Those that believe in the religion of climate change don't what to hear anything that conflicts with their religion.I can write you out a long list of things that indicate something is amiss but I'd probably just be wasting my thumb strength. You and the others that buy into what the globalists preach, aren't likely to be swayed by my knowledge on the subject.
Good luck to you all!
That's interesting, I'll have to read up about it since I've never heard of this theory before.I'll disagree having a geology degree. It’s pretty funny though, well, not actually funny, but how one side is all about the climate emergency, yet absolutely hate Elon… actually, it’s a little funnyPretty much everything today is about hype & money.....just look at hunting influencers or social media influencers in general. Sell your product at any cost to honesty.
You seem to know more about this than I do, so please educate me on which types of hunting he opposes. I'm not really interested in getting into a pissing contest over what someone I don't have a personal relationship might or might not do, so I can't really answer for him. My earlier response was only meant to be an indicator of how I think Yvon would respond to a hunter asking to retrieve a killed animal that had run onto his property, based on things he's said in the past.Yet, he opposes certain kinds of hunting. Paragraph 1, I believe he's against grizzly bear hunting and predators. Paragraph 2, ok he was an extremely physical athlete, I don't really care. Respect? neutral. Putting their money where their mouth is? Depends, where they are putting their money? I do respect the guy for being insanely driven and successful, achieving the American dream and his company makes excellent quality gear!! Paragraph 3, I earned my BS in Geology, emphasis hydrogeology in 1988. A whole lot has probably changed. Younger-Dryas Impact Hypothesis? I've never heard of it before? I googled it and it sounds plausible and it seemed implausible that primitive man and very few of then could cause so many extinctions. Massive meteorite collisions with earth were thought to cause the extinction of dinosaurs. Remember the extinctions didn't happen over night, rather over thousands of years. The geologic timescale is incomprehensible like our national debt! My professors said when they studied geology, plate tectonics was new and controversial. I was referring to Historical Geology class I took in 1986, thankfully I didn't have to take paleontology!!! I don't practice geology, and I was a B student, too much memorization. I'm more of a Calculus and physics guy. That's why I'm a registered civil engineer in California with a Master's.You seem to know more about this than I do, so please educate me on which types of hunting he opposes. For the record, I don't buy into the religion of climate change, nor the religion of wokeness. I do buy into the fact that Yvon was hard as F*** back in the day and did some real shit in the mountains that's worthy of respect. I also buy into anyone putting their money where their mouth is also worthy of respect, regardless of whether I agree with every single belief the guy has.
Also see you have a Geology degree... what are your thoughts on the Younger-Dryas Impact Hypothesis being the cause of the previous mass extinction versus the theory that man over hunted those populations and caused their extinction?
We are all noticing the change. When i was a kid, we had ice and snow at thanksgiving. Now rarely get enough ice for ice fishing where i grew up.Maybe people in the lesser 48 dont notice climate change since all your glaciers are gone and what not. But up here in ak you dont have too look to far to see that things are changing "quick" relatively speaking. Especially when you go out to coastal villages and talk to some of the older natives. If you're ever in seward, go to exit glacier and you will see how fast things are moving. Theres glaciers you use to be able to see from the highway that are now receded back behind mountains that happened just in the passed 10 years.
