Paradox of choice paralysis....

Yeah their light transmission is insane. Is it worth 2x Tenmiles, is another question that I guess only I can answer lol

Edit: damn. Some of the Polars on Eurooptic are in the sub2k realm. But not seeing drop/windage reticles.
All the current Polar models make my head hurt. In a tree now and don't remember 56mm model I have. My "essential tremors" limit me to a self imposed 400 yard poke at game. (If I've had a few snorts, yotes aren't safe at 500. Masks the shakes.) . I just need great low light ability zeroed at 200 yards and I'll figure out the rest.

You use dial up for yardage….windage you hold left or right….typically. You can dial windage but generally shooters feel it’s easier to then adjust your shot if you don’t allow for enough wind. If you want that Christmas tree reticle you determine your ballistics based on personal testing to determine each horizontal line . That can be an issue on 2nd plane as you power up or down in magnification.

I'm like 90% set on the Polar after all this

The only thing I can't figure out is the turrets. If I get a basic duplex reticle, am I going to be limited to mpbr? I know they offer many other reticle options but currently Eurooptic has a couple screaming deals on certain models of the Polar and they all seem to have the basic reticles. What turrets/reticle are you running?
I'm 60 years old and despise busy reticles. I don't bench rest shoot and 90% of my hunting in South Carolina is in a Tree stand and/or Tower Stand. My reticle of choice is the German #4 or Duplex. I shoot a 7 mag and zero it at 200 yards. A 400 yard poke is around 18" drop (approx). In the terrain I hunt, I don't have time to dial. I need to be able to throw the gun up, and send one quickly if needed. Full disclosure, most of my shots are from 70-250 yards. I have a couple places I sit that are overlooking a huge cut down and that's when the 300-400 yard poke is a possibilty. Purchasing Alpha glass is one thing but getting the right scope to fit your style of hunting is paramount.

Copy all this. I should have been more clear.

Ideally I would like a simple duplex reticle with windage mil marks, or possibly mil for both windage and elevation. I'm building this rifle for a hunt that may or may not ever materialize, which is probably foolish. Normally what I do is shoot a very flat shooting round like a 270, sight a few inches high at 100 and figure out my mpbr which is a hair over 300 usually. I started thinking about outwest shots being four and five and 600 yd but the truth of the matter is I have no experience with that distance and wouldn't trust myself even after a ton of practice. I'm a bow hunter. I like to get close.

The little experience I have with complicated reticles are all FFP mil/mil and I generally prefer using the reticle over turrets. Mil Plex, horus h58 etc

I was hoping I could find a polar with a simple mil dot reticle AND some sort of BDC turrets so I could choose which to use when. But the short answer is.....I'll get closer

You may want to attend a shooting school before going further. You will learn a lot and help you develop confidence.
