Thought I was share this with you fellas....very interesting and very creative. Curious if you guys have ever tried this. I ran it by the wife. She said, she agrees that no flies would penetrate the hose, but they are warm.

Never used them for game bags, but while hunting in the UP my grandfather always said when he was cold he would put on a pair of panty hose to help warm up....seemed weird especially to a kid, and I can't say I ever saw him do it. Still he would say it every winter. I imagine if true that would work against cooling the meat.

how about a gucci purse for a kill kit? Problem with panty hose is the insulatory properties. I think they many are made from polypro, some from thin nylon, which makes them sensitive to brush strikes and runs (not dookie)...get a run and watch the flies have a sleep over and blow mags all over that good food. Not worth the 7 oz you save on quality proven bags.

I say try it though, but video tape it and share with us. You can say you were the first to spearhead the concept. before too long Caribou Gear will copy your idea and bust out a new product.

I won't have anything to do with panty hose, and I sure as heck wouldn't depend on them to protect my hard earned meat.

They breathe poorly and run/rip easily. Also no where near strong enough to hang meat in.
Not worth the weight savings IMO.
I will stick to TAG bags!

Some folks put Catfish bait in panty hose -it keeps the cats from stealing your gooey, raccoon liver, rancid hot dog concoction.

Aron Snyder always has a pair in his pack but I don't think they're for baggin' meat, at least not elk or deer meat ha ha. We'll see if he's on the site in about five minutes

Had a gunsmith tell me that the best gun sock is pantyhose infused with gun oil. Not something I want on a scope, but not a bad choice for anything vintage.

hahaha that cracked me up. I wonder how long it's going to take for him to give a smart ass come back???

I have used them. Work great for hanging in a tree, but wouldn't be good for dragging through the brush. I have carried a couple pairs of xxxl plus a single game bag when I go solo. Meat in tree goes in the hose, and first load out in a game bag. Bring more game bags when we come back. Super light and small.

Useless for anything but on legs, they are too porous of mesh to keep blow flies from egging your meat. Caribou bags or thicker for me.

As far as using them, Yes, I used them when in jr high in the early 80's for trapping, and yes they kept my legs warmer when in below freezing weather wearing hip boots. Read about it in a outdoor magazine as a kid and gramps used to wear a set of thigh highs when elk hunting.
Never told anyone but he did.

Don't leave them in the glove compartment or under the seat of your truck. Your wife won't buy the idea that you are using them for hunting. "Honestly dear, the Elk leg goes in them" !!!!
