Any experience with the Born Primitive frontier light pants? Looking for a light, comfortable, somewhat stretchy and fast drying pants for September elk hunts. I use Prana Zions now but looking for something a little more durable. Kuiu Attack pants don’t fit me right. Thanks in advance!

My favorites are still my Prana Stretch Zion Straight pants. I find a lot of hunting pants feel like they are parachute pants and catch on everything in the woods. I do have a pair of Kuiu Kutana pants that are in my rotation for early season. I like that the waist on them has some stretch so it doesn't matter what layers i have on under they'll always fit and they aren't too bulky.

Stitching on the Prana's can be poor but I think they're still my favorite as I can wear them year round.

Thanks for the info! Are the kutana durable enough to handle minor brush/sage?

I like the look of the Born Primitive Frontier light pants (especially for the price.) My current pants are First Lite Corrugate Foundry. I like the features of the first lite pants, and for me the fit is spot on. So far the First Lite pants have been great. When its close to time to replace them Im probably going to get a pair of Born Primitives for comparison at least. Maybe sooner if I can find a deal on them.

I'll wear Tiburon's over Kutana's every time for warm weather hunts. Never had a durability problem with them in the high country. Still plenty durable for me down in the desert and Coues mtns.

My hunting pant that fits that description are made by Origin USA. Light, allow movement and dry fast. For later in September when the weather cools I’m still wearing my 10 year old Sitka Mountain pant.

I have use the Kuiu Katanas for many years and they have held up well busting the north Idaho brush. I don’t care for the thigh pockets because they are a little too small IMO.

The GTFO mountain pant, they are my favorite September pants, I wish they had a back pocket, but it’s not a big deal

Kick ass pants though

I've worn mine in both sage and thicker country. This is year 2 on them so I have a full year on them and have actually been wearing them all season so far this year. I have no rips/holes yet nor are there any quality issues. I'll add that I also hunt almost all 30 days of September and put on a lot of miles. They aren't my only pants but I do believe that speaks to durability.

Some good points though about pockets. I don't tend to put a lot in my thigh pockets or cargo pockets but that is more a personal preference thing (I just don't like bulk in those areas). The side zip vents I use daily after about the first hour of light if i'm moving and then close last hour or so if not moving much.

I haven't tried the Tiburon's. The Kutana's are somewhat similar to the waist on the Zions with the built in "belt" which I think of as elastic to allow you a bit of flexibility in the waist.

Prana Zion , have had the same pair for years now and I don’t know how many days out in the field and around town I’ve spent in them. I don’t like the straight fit style, too tight on the thighs. Kuiu katanas are nice too, but pranas are hard to improve over.

FL corrugate foundry are my favorite pant. Still own Kuiu Tiburon, Sitka ascent, and FL corrugate guide pants.

The Kuiu and Sitka I have to size up several sizes in waist for them to not fit my quads like skinny jeans.

Still using two pair of $22 Walmart Wrangler outdoor pants (nylon). Work great and good pockets.
