I ended up buying a compact, lightweight tripod to use primarily to stabilize my rifle when shooting in the field. It came with an inverted ball head that allows me to lock in my rifles directly to the tripod or lock in through a saddle. I used it from a ground blind this year and was very happy with it.
But, I liked the light weight so much that I started to wonder about using it to film my daughter's soccer games.
My current tripod for photography is a 10+ year old Manfrotto that I got from my dad. It is stable. It has a nice pan head. It is large and heavy.
Is there an attachment that I can lock into the inverted ball head that will make it easier to use to pan a lightweight video camera shooting soccer from the top row of a stadium?
