In addition to my Washington Moose permit, I also drew a late whitetail permit for the Palouse this year. Blue tongue has hit pretty bad in eastern Washington and the bucks have really taken a hit this year. I feel pretty fortunate to have gotten this guy. I watched him walk in and bed about 250 yards away and rather than try to sneak closer, I just waited for him to stand. About 8:00 he got up, but I missed the opportunity when he immediately laid down facing the opposite way. He finally stood up about noon and I made the shot count.
