Painless load development (mine)

I figured. I appreciate it

I made 33 , that was probably the worst of them. I'll group them and post the results for fun
No problem! You’ll be dialed in no time! There’s only a few things are really important, and chamfering the case mouth (really just the inside) is one of them.

You don’t need “extra lube” after resizing. I only see issues like that if I forget either lube or chamfering. It’s most likely lack of chamfering, as just mentioned.

I've never seen such a thing and I have almost never seated bullets into intentionally lubricated necks. Rather, they almost always have lube tumbled off before prime/charge/seating steps.

I normally try to develop 2-3 different loads with different combinations of powder, primers, bullets. I will make my primary load then have a couple of backups in case i cannot get the components for the main load. Nice Rifle nice groups

Before I waste too many precious TMKs, how bad is this burr
Update:
IMG_7666.jpeg
These shot 10 for just under 1.5”

New starline brass shot 9 for 1.15”

And the training load that was recommended me on the other thread went 1.3”

With a bit of practice reloading and shooting, I just might have a nice thing going. Thanks for the help everyone

First time reloading, pretty happy with the results. I excluded the 11th shot of the 20 group due to an obvious human error.

Considering this is my first reloading attempt I slowly increased my charge weight in 0.3 gr increments to ensure I didn’t see any pressure signs.

This load is 1 gr below max. ELDM 147, H4350, Lapua large primer brass, 6.5 Creedmoor from my Tikka.

I might test out some additional charges once all my brass has been shot. The last few shots in my charge ladder stacked pretty well together so I may need to investigate increasing charge weight later on.

Badass, welcome to reloading. It's nice to be able to tweak your loads and shoot whatever bullet/powder combo your heart desires. Quick tip, that helps me keep track of everything, is having notebooks for each gun. When you start loading for multiple guns, it's nice to have a quick reference to remember what you did last time.

That looks pretty painless, indeed. Good job. What’s your charge weight and speed?

Yes very painless! I was planning to do the classic OCW and seating depth development plan but glad I didn’t.

Charge weight is 39.3 gr H4350 and velocity is 2495 FPS. I have a 20” barrel.

ThanksFormidilosus for posting this. My first couple attempts at reloading (relatively) painlessly and results are better than I’d hoped for this level of experience. (Edit: I’ve just started hand loading so haven’t tried the painful methods yet. )

153 tmk 6.5prc. Loaded one 4round pressure ladder picked a coal about 0.030” off lands loaded 10 and here ya go

I can count, even though I’m from Georgia, and I did manage to run my seating die too low and buckled the shoulders on 3/10, so that’s why there’s only 7 in this group, but this is the first group I hand loaded for this rifle.

223, liked Staball match and got over 2700 with 25 grains under 77tmk. Results after 3 round pressure ladder.

Took this load out to 600 first time yesterday. First shot watched go high, .1 mil down and on 2 moa steel second shot. My 11 year old was on it in 2 shots as well. Lot of fun and she’s begging me to shoot 223 for hunting season this year. I think she’s gonna have to fight me for it. Y’all keep up the good, easy, painless work

Very nice... My Tikka 6.5 CM was like that, was done quickly and have two powders to choose from. My 6 ARC gasser on the other hand is giving me fits. What's the barrel length on that 223? I'd be very happy with that velocity and group. I'm planning to try a Staball Match load for the AR but haven't gotten that far yet.
