In a situation where you’ve damaged or broken something, what is the recommend over the counter pain meds?

My original thought was ibuprofen but doesn’t that thin your blood which could be bad in a situation where there is bleeding?

Asprin thins the blood, not sure about ibuprofen.

For OTC meds, I look for a combo high dose ibuprofen/paracetamol because the two work together to give better relief than either on their own.
I find the relief when they start kicking in is noticeable.

Where I am, that's about as grunty as you can go without a doctor's prescription.

All NSAIDs increase bleeding risk, but they also increase clotting risk (fun). Well, aspirin doesn't increase clotting, but has a much larger increased bleeding risk.

I carry NSAIDs and Tylenol as separate medications. I would use the two together at maximal dosing if needed.

OTC Medications
Fever/pain reducers
Motrin/ibuprofen

I've used white willow bark for at least 30 years. Mixed salicylates with very little risk of thinning/bleeding, and easy on the stomach.

You take all of that? I just take toilet paper, a bunch of ibuprofen and an old prescription bottle with whatever is left over from the last surgery I had.

I take a dozen or so Alieve pills in a baggy stashed in my first aid kit. I find Alieve takes slightly longer to start working but seems to last longer. By day two my neck pain form my bino harness causes a nasty headache so I take two then I am usually good the rest of the trip.
