Anyone use both of these in the field and have feedback? Mostly thinking of using to hang quarters if needed in the backcountry when solo. Also was thinking could use them at camp to hang whole elk or deer....but it doesn't look like they are rated for that weight. Guessing both would probably hold up though?

Thx. I was to specific with my search before I posted.

Read through some of the posts and interesting to see some negative feedback.

That Dynema rope pack a pull offers is interesting. May need to snag some. So far paracord and pynch pulleys are useless for me. They offer zero advantage and the paracord stretches too much. I have not ordered a higher end rope yet because I figured the small ball was too small to truly offer an advantage.

I haven't used either of those systems. I have heard of issues from people using the pynch pulley where they said there was too much friction involved while lifting. Again, not personal experience, just what I have heard from two people that used it. The Pack a Pull in a 4:1 ratio looks like it would work fine. Eastern Woods Outdoors sells a MTS Run & Gun Ultralight Hoist. It uses dyneema as well. It works great for deer, even large ones. I doubt you could lift an entire elk since it does not reduce the weight enough. Maybe if you tie it to a truck!! However, hanging quarters or even a couple/few at a time on one line would be no problem. You can purchase the items as a kit, or build a kit yourself from various online vendors. There are a couple videos online that show how to use it. Let us know if you pick up the pack a pull system... always looking for something new to try!

Here's my thread on building a 3:1 Hauling set up with these:
