Over Priced Things That Shouldn't Be?

Canned dog food. The canned food I was buying is now over $4 a can and it's 80% water and normally less than 10% protein. I stopped buying it. I can buy ground beef for $4 a lb and it has higher protein and fat to add to my hunting dogs food.

Guitars. It annoys me to see pretty much all USA made guitars going the boutique route. Everything being produced in Indonesia or South Korea is flooding the Everyman market leaving the good stuff in the stratosphere.

Same for Amps.

The vintage market is just stupid (ex. Klon) and is not even worth considering these days.

Speaking of amps, have you seen the amps that Tracii Guns is building? I don't hardly play any more, but I'd like to put a 1987 Charvel M4 through one!

Duuuude….you have an 87 M4?? Don’t tell me it’s white with a maple fingerboard??? I had one from 88!

Yes, I’ve seen those he’s building. And I’m curious how much “he” is actually doing? They do sound good. A long time ago George Metropolous sold amp kits that were like the old classic Marshalls. Always kick myself for not buying one because it would have been fun to make.

*Had :( Ferrari Red. I'm not sure how much of the building he is doing, but looks like he is doing a lot of the electrical component work.

I laugh at my friends that still chew. I remember when I was in college on the rodeo team and we would be competing somewhere and Skoal/Copenhagen reps would be there and when you walked by they would ask you if you chewed. If you answered yes, they would ask Skoal or Copenhagen? I would say Skoal and they would had you a roll.

During the course of a weekend rodeo you could wind up with 4 or 5 rolls, so over the course of a college rodeo season I would have a pile of rolls in my freezer. Once I graduated and got my card and was going to rodeos I would run into different guys, but doing the same thing. Never bought a can of chew and gave away a ton of it because I knew I would get more the next rodeo.

When I married my first wife she put her put down to my chew. I didn't really put up a fight because I was actually getting bored with it. So I quit cold turkey and it never bothered me. I have friends that have tried and make it about 6 months and have to start chewing again. I have not had a chew in about 45 years.

Where am I going with this story? A can of chew at the continence store in Washington is about $10 a can.

Either you shop around and find quality or you “get” what you pay for.

I know guys who made poor choices and God bless them. Know a guy who’s wife controls his every move. Can you say “dumb”?

My wife showed me a screen shot of my tracker in a subdivision one night when i was fishing offshore. Told her wasnt anyone like her but seriously - why would i EVER skip fishing? Nope. You want the fillets fried or baked?

Everything is so expensive it’s literally exhausting. Quick trip to the hardware store, $100. Quick trip to the grocery store $150 stop for dinner, $100 😫
I couldn’t agree more I can’t tell you the last time I walked out of the grocery store spending less than $100

Years ago I had to choose between alcohol or tobacco, only had enough money for one habit. I chose wisely. I cant understand an addictive habit that the only upside is it keeps me from being more of an a**hole. I want my addictive habits to give me a buzz.

Is that a young ODB behind a Pearl White Charvel?!

Hell yes! Don't have the guitar anymore, but still have that strap! A red splatter Earth III! I was playing through a Crate G-60GT.

The singer is the late Lizzy Dean Holyfield. He was in the Baltimore band Great Mutant Skywheel - but that was much later than this. A good guy.
