If you ever buy meat from a small farmer that does it right you can instantly tell a difference. The color and taste is completely different in most cases.

Pork is the best example of this IMO, if you have ever eaten a pig raised by someone you know vs what we buy in the grocery store, it's almost not comparable. Color, texture and flavor are completely different.

I'd also tell you that your Northern Idaho area of residence is not known for culinary excellence!

But yes, this is why my wife and I seldom go out to eat. We make our own food and it tastes much better.

We bought an Idaho Pasture Pig this year for the first time. For those that prefer wild game, this pork is right up your alley. Darker meat and a little tougher than a generic farm hog. Excellent!

Rarely do I eat something at a restaurant that is better than I can make at home. We rarely go out and if we do, we choose something we can’t do at home….sushi, Asian food, etc.

I don’t understand people that eat out multiple times a week and have a cocktail or 2. They’re spending 100s of dollars a week!

Right on. We eat out maybe every other month or so. And I have had the same mantra, I always order something that I either cannot make at home or something that wrecks your kitchen.

5 nights a week I cook dinner at home.
2 nights a week we go out to eat and have a cocktail or 2. I absolutely love it. I thoroughly enjoy someone waiting on me and cooking my dinner.
Got this wood fired pizza place, have this place that has an Asian flair, etc etc.
I’ve have plenty of fish, game meat, seafood etc in the freezer, that’s for 5 nights a week.
I bet we spend $100 a week out to dinner

We have some really good restaurants here....world class.

I applaud RFK for bringing this to National Attention. There is a woman on Youtube documenting Bread with no mold after months. "Natural Flavors" in processed food is not natural but chemicals.

I make a wicked; Elk Chili, Elk stew, Elk Lasagna....Wild boar carnitas and chili verde...its just a matter of finding the time

Have you seen the movie “Waiting”? That might have something to do with it too. 😂

I cannot stand to buy ground beef from the store, its all terrible. Even the steaks are usually sub par. The food in this country is poison, glad that should be changing soon.

Super Hot chicken wings at the Vine in Iowa City is about the only thing I care to go out for anymore. Most everything tastes better at home. Plus, this tip culture is really off putting to me.

I recall being satiated with small portions of fish in Barbados. Nutrient dense!

My bride and I just got back from 10 days in Peru and 10 days in Spain and France. First thing my wife said as we got something to eat after getting back to the US was this tastes like crap. Amazing the food taste differences with all the crap we add to our food in this country.
Yep. Just got back from Italy Croatia and Montenegro last month. Unbelievable grub

Don't get me wrong. We only occasionally go out to eat. Our freezers are full of elk , moose, deer and fish I caught in Alaska. My wife cans from her garden and is an incredible cook. We eat pretty healthy.

I seldom go out to a restaurant anymore because of that reason.
Did you also notice there weren’t many/any overweight people (locals) over there.
