Start off by saying I am not knocking the product or ever plan to do so. That said, I'm concerned and just planning ahead on my purchases.

Has anyone tried their outer layer in the PNW, wet Alaska or other rainforest like areas? From my understanding they do not have any specific rainshell gear, juat a DWR finish on everything.

Their website says;

Suggested Use:

CHARLIE LAYER: This is your OUTER LAYER TO BE Worn on top of your ALPHA and BRAVO layers. This layer’s primary purpose is to provide superior protection against the elements, whether extreme cold, rain, wind, or snow. All of our CHARLIE layers can be packed down for easy storing and provide quick access features when worn.

I hunt the Idaho Panhandle and to say I've been wet and grumpy more then once is an understatement 😂

Does anyone have first hand experience with this outer layer in wet, rainy climates? Basically I want to know if I need to bring a seperate rain jacket with me at all times or if their clothing can handle it assuming you don't stand out in the rain for hours on end.

🇺🇲 Thanks

I haven't tried their stuff yet as I haven't had something that really fit what I'm missing.

The biggest thing that has impressed me has been the price point for US made gear. At this 50% off sale, it's a really good deal.

Keep us posted.

I used the complete setup hunting whitetails in Northern Maine this year and iy worked out pretty well.Having said that Im not sure about the puffy holding up in super wet conditions .I think they are making a waterproof outer layer now.Also a big fan of the USA made model.

They do make a rain set now, have not tried it, but might, because I like their stuff.

On the coast, any DWR coating is completely useless, it beads off some water until the first patch of salmonberry you walk through, then it’s gone forever. I have never had any articles of clothing that would still bead water at the end of a rainy day in the brush, so I wouldn’t rely on anything to keep me dry(ish) that isn’t waterproof, and most gear doesn’t stay waterproof long on the coast, I would love if the origin rain gear held up, but I’m always skeptical with rain gear
