Oregon winter backpacking trip

I'm still interested in doing this trip. Once we know what weekend(s) might work for everyone I can plan accordingly.

I'm not really set up for winter backpacking (no snow-shoes).
So I'm waiting for someone else to take the lead, pick a time & place and I'll see if it works for me. Besides I do Cougar Camp w/ the Ifish crowd which this year is scheduled 2nd thru 3rd weekend of February.

Alright march 1 st . Thinking pct to round lake up on santiam pass . Looking at the way the weather is going its not much of a snow trip . But could be , but thinking Oregon is turning into a desert climate lol

Hey I'm new here but might b able to make this if there's room for 1 more. I'm in Cottage Grove but try to make it over to the Ochoco's every couple months if I can.

Are you thinking park at the snow park off hwy 20 and hike from there to the PCT, then hike back from round lake or have a couple trucks staged at round lake?

Hopefully there is enough snow that it would be a out and back . If by chance the snow is still almost no existent . Then maybe a hike to from the pct to booth lake ?

Right now yes , by March who knows . Snow shoes can be rented pretty cheap for those don't have them !

Any one up for a quick trip this weekend up in the Cascades. Weather is still going to be dry and clear. I am going up anyways on a solo trip somewhere up there. Getting a bit of cabin fever and a little sick of the fog. So thought I would ask if anyone else wanted to go also.

Also- So is March 1st the set weekend for the group trip?

Man I wish I could make it. Obligations are gonna count me out as of now. Were getting some snow up there now, snowshoes are definitely a good idea!

Is this trip still on? And if so, where is exact camp location, and what TH going in from for this trip and when are people showing up. Is everyone going in Friday.

I am still not sure what the details are. I am assuming this is a pack in trip?? Unless the gist is just a base camp deal.
