Sounds like a common sense law. The Oregon Governor could deputies all the antifa members in Portland to begin enforcement.

I also think they should introduce legislation making it illegal to commit homicide with the exception of preventing GBI or death.

Oregon does not recognize any out of state CC. And I don't know if an out of stater can get an Oregon CC. Oregon and Washington are swirling around the toilet bowl and it is all due to two counties in Washington and Two counties in Oregon that makes the rest of those states bow down to them.

Great point about it being two counties in each state. Folks in king county bear little resemblance to those in Stevens. By he way, this is a perfect example of why the electoral college is brilliant...it prevents a dense, largely homogenous population from ruling the rest. Imagine how different the initiative process (and all elections) would be if the state also had an electoral college...that would even things out a tad...

I get your point, but what do you want them to do? CNN or any news outlet reporting every single positive firearm defense is not a realistic idea. The reality is that, mass shootings warrant national news coverage and your average citizen thwarting off a home robbery doesn't (beyond maybe a local level).

I agree with you 100 percent on mental illness being the main cause, therefor why should we oppose common sense gun regulations in regards to mental health?

Not trying to start anything, just genuinely asking a question.

Its called equal reporting....which right now they are not. What we hear/read shapes our opinion.

Of course CNN cannot report every good guy with firearms story....but they don't report ANY. Shaping opinion. Plus you can't un-ring a bell. Its same the reason political attack adds are so effective. Media is directing our attention to "guns"...not to problem metro area gang violence or the mentally ill.

Then add the Diane Feinstein's and Nancy Pelosi's of the world that repeat over and over this "Guns are bad" mantra regularly. The Obama admin never let a mass shooting go to waste but they totally ignored the horrible gun violence in some of our cities. Something like 6 cities account for the majority of gun crimes- seems like that should be addressed instead of trying to keep guns from law abiding citizens- don't you think?

They rarely said anything about mental illness...which is of course the common thread in all of these cases......it was always a piece of metal responsible with the implication that if we were to rid society of firearms....we would have rainbows and unicorns.

Both parties TOTALLY ignore mental illness....which is not only responsible for the vast majority of these mass crimes..... but also the homeless problem.

This is Oregon we’re talking about. I don’t put anything past this state, our current legislators, and governor.

Exactly...based on our elected "leaders", Oregon is headed in the exact opposite direction of common sense and normalcy.

Guns aren't the only thing the idiots are messing with. Rent control is another hot topic. Overregulate the process of creating housing then overregulate the process of renting it out. Just whittle away the American dream from those who worked to earn assets and give it the snowflakes.

What do you expect from a Democrat tree hugger state? They outlawed hunting Mtn lions with hounds, and hunting bears over bait. Probably the stingiest of all western states in handing out non resident big game tags.

This is the most disturbing part of the legislation. If I hadn't read it on the bill, I wouldn't believe it. I guess bird hunting in OR is now dead along with target practice, shooting events or any other shooting activity that requires more than 20 rounds. WTF.......

"(2) A person may not receive more than 20 rounds of ammunition in any 30-day time period. (3)(a) Any person transferring ammunition shall maintain a record of all ammunition transferred by the person to ensure that a person does not receive more than 20 rounds of ammunition in any 30-day time period."

Washington has you beat there. You can buy an out of state license and tags which allows you to hunt 9 days for deer and spikes for 11 days, unless you hunt the cascades then you can hunt branched antlers. To apply for special tags you still must buy your license and tags with no refund if you do not draw.

Rent control just creates ugly neighborhoods. If there is no value in a property due to low rents, owners don't spend money improving their properties. Its a race to the bottom.
