Booked a moose hunt and mountain goat trip in the very northern edge of BC. If someone has hunted up that way, what size of binoculars would you recommend? 8x42, 10x42?

Let’s assume for discussion sake, the guide will have a spotting scope.

Oh no, that’s way too big and bulky for what I’m wanting. This is something I’ll carry in a chest mount.

My vote is a 10 x 42 bino paired with a decent spotter...my choice hunting northern BC is Swarovision 10 x 42 EL's and a Swaro 20-60 x 65 ATM HD spotting scope...that is the old magnesium body spotter with the standard 20 - 60 power zoom. I always have a phone scope adaptor for the iPhone to digiscope critters and enlarge the photos with the phone. Really useful to determine legality of Stone rams (8 years old minimum or over the bridge of the nose), caribou which have to have a minimum of 6 points on one side counting the back-tine, and moose where we have a minimum point restriction.
