Hi There,

I'm looking for sub $1500 8x42 Bins and would love some opinions of new/used that you all have liked. I was originally considering the razor HD, but think it may be worth going used Euro.

I hunt Western US and want something that is great in Low Light

You set on 8’s? I think 10x42 or 10x50’s are hard to beat, I do use 8’s for bow hunting in timber but everything else I use 10x or 12x

I prefer 8x off hand. on a tripod I would be happy with 10X, but I tend to spend most of my hand viewing off hand

8x are a fine all-around hunting glass - 8 vs 10x is all about preference. I really regret selling my 8x42 SLCs (at the time I just had too many binoculars) - K1’s list above is also pretty good. The key is to get your hands on a number of these units and sample them prior to buying.

In the Backwoods Pursuit review of the 10's the Razor UHD edged out the Swarovski SLCs for what its worth. Should be able to swing that if you shop around for $1500.

Maven B1.2 are fantastic. I'm sure there are folks who can find worthwhile advantages from the euro glass, but I'm not one of them.

I think at that price you can get into one of the big 3 in the used market, if you can see what fits you best when it comes to the view and ergos.
