The AR is the tikka of ARs. It’s a sound design and as long as you have a decent free-floated barrel and good trigger you’re there.

This is my experience as well. Even a PSA upper/ 18" SS barrel that I assembled with some care and attention on an Aero lower shoots 77 SMK's and TMK's reliably under an inch for 5, right around an inch for 10 at 100.

Seems to me that for barrels, you want a company whose ads feature nerds in brightly colored jerseys winning matches more heavily than tattooed and bearded dudes in tactical gear. White Oak Armament would be a good example of this.

I have a $800 PSA that shoots sub MOA with ball ammo and have/have had several mid-upper tier ($1500-2,000+) that shoot 2 moa or greater. My experience is it luck of the draw on buying a factory AR when it come to accuracy.
