Ny allows “any centerfire rifle” for big game hunting so no caliber or cartridge restrictions except in some extremely densely populated areas near the city.
If you are in south/western NY maybe you are hunting ag land, but even there it would be exceptionally rare to have an opportunity longer than 300 yards. Any public land it would be unfathomably rare to have a shot much over 100 yards. So barring access to a farm with very large fields, any longer-range focused priorities can get thrown right out the window.
You clearly have 100% of your functional needs met with any one of your rifles, so Id say you already have what you need 6 times over. So anything else should simply be something fun to shoot and interesting to you. Your 243 or 308 are imo the most appropriate cartridges for the area, so perhaps something to complement those, either a 223 or another centerfire 22, perhaps a 6 creed if it isnt too similar a gun to your 243, a 6.5cm or 7-08, etc. That or maybe something in a classic, a 270, 300 savage, 257rob, etc?
